Carl’s Jr. Low Carb Burger
The fast-food chain has jumped on the low-carb bandwagon, adding a “Low Carb Six Dollar Burger” ($3.99) to its menu. The selection has only 6 grams of carbohydrates (four net carbs) and features a half- pound beef patty “wrapped” in lettuce leaves, topped with ketchup, mustard, mayonnaise, red onion, tomato slices, dill pickles and melted cheese everything but the bun.
We sampled one locally, and it came without cheese and pickles, so if those are important to you, be sure to mention them.
The bunless version reduces the burger’s carb count by 55 grams. You can add guacamole, bacon or chili.
Don’t eat this thing with your hands, and don’t even think about the steering-wheel-inone-hand, burger-in-the-other maneuver. Be sure to ask for a knife and fork. And extra napkins.
